The number of treatments needed varies from person to person and depends on several factors, including the nature and severity of your condition, your overall health, and your response to treatment.
Some patients may experience significant relief after just one or two sessions, while others may require a series of treatments to achieve optimal results.
1. What should I do immediately after my osteopathic treatment?
After your treatment, it’s important to:
Rest: Give your body some time to adjust to the changes made during the session. Rest for the remainder of the day if possible.
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins and support your body’s healing process.
Avoid strenuous activities: Refrain from heavy lifting, intense exercise, or activities that may strain the treated areas for the rest of the day.
2. Are there any specific activities I should avoid?
Yes, to ensure optimal recovery, you should:
Avoid vigorous exercise: Refrain from high-impact or strenuous activities for at least 24 hours.
Limit repetitive movements: Avoid activities that require repetitive motions that might strain the treated areas.
Be cautious with heavy lifting: If you must lift something, do so with proper technique and avoid lifting heavy objects.
3. Can I resume my normal activities the next day?
In most cases, you can gradually resume your normal activities the following day, but listen to your body. If you experience discomfort or stiffness, consider taking it easy and allowing additional rest. Follow any specific advice given by your osteopath regarding the resumption of activities.
